• The return. Arrimadas resumes the activity "one hundred percent" after his maternity leave
  • Catalonia.Cs separates Lorena Roldán and designates Carlos Carrizosa as candidate to preside over the Generalitat
  • Politics Arrimadas, against Iglesias: "He has to give fewer feminism lessons, show his face and stop attacking the judges"

Dragging the dark circles of a new mother. Going back to school catches him this year closer. Comprehensive with the confusion among the parents, she censures what she considers inaction of the Government. The president of Ciudadanos, Inés Arrimadas, rejoins political activity after her maternity leave and grants EL MUNDO her first interview, where she confirms her willingness to understand with the PSOE, not with Podemos, regarding the Budgets.

She returns to politics after her maternity leave. What do you think is a newsworthy event? It is necessary to normalize the fact that women who have positions of responsibility can be mothers and take a few weeks of leave and absolutely nothing happens. There is no power vacuum and the projects we lead and our leadership do not suffer. Everyone has been able to see that the Cs line was the one I had marked. In a few months I may take your son to kindergarten. But there are parents who in a few weeks must take their children to nursery schools or colleges and do not know if they will be able, how they will go ... The Government is dedicating more efforts to attack the concerted school than to plan the return to school, and that is inadmissible. This week I have been reviewing many papers, and on April 13 we presented an NLP [proposition not of law] in Congress asking the Government to go back to school preparing. But whose fault is it, the Government or the the communities? Because Health and Education are transferred, no one can understand why they go back to school in Malaga and not in Valladolid. That in Barcelona, if there are cases in a school, they act in one way and in Madrid in another way. I give an example: everyone understands that in discos you have to have the same security measures in Malaga as in Valladolid. Well, even more so, a nationally coordinated plan for schools. The Government has to give coordinated instructions on educational matters just as it has had to give them on health matters. What happens is that the Government acts late and badly, will it have the audacity to say that going back to school could not be foreseen? For Citizens, is the government most responsible for this situation and not the communities? Of course. It is that the opposite would be to admit that in some communities it is possible to return to school, in others not; that in some it returns in September, in others in December ... Everyone understands that if there are common sanitary conditions for discos, there must be common sanitary conditions for going back to school. And this has nothing to do with respecting the autonomic powers, but there are communities that have plans, others have not made them public, others announce concrete measures ... and parents mired in confusion. Parents, teachers, are without any guidance. Parents don't know how they are going to work if they don't know if their children are going to go back to school. It is the Government that would have to give generic guidelines throughout Spain to say how the return occurs, we cannot be at the expense of each community saying one thing, so is it time to think that Education should be a state competition ?Nerd. It has nothing to do with the competition. The coordination and general guidelines that guarantee equal opportunities throughout the territory do not have to do with the management of competition being delegated to each territory. It is perfectly compatible. As we have seen in Health: it is still a regional competence, but obviously a pandemic came and the Government had to give the same guidelines throughout Spain. For basic things, in Health and Education, respecting the autonomic competences, the Government has to give generic indications.Do you fear a chaotic September due to going back to school, to work, outbreaks ...? We are going to continue living in uncertainty that this Government has caused from the first minute of the pandemic. Therefore, the role of Ciudadanos is to try to avoid as much as possible the damages that this is having for citizens. The Government is doing damage to the economy and families, and our role is that this damage is the least possible and that they are forced to correct mistakes. Will Citizens be a stable partner? Ciudadanos is a useful party for the Spanish. We are in the middle of a pandemic and this Government has the same support and seats that it had in the investiture. What we are doing is that Iglesias, Rufián and Otegi do not mark the future of Spain in an office. That they paint less and less and that Sánchez is forced to take more sensible measures, because everyone understands that the less prominence these gentlemen have, the better for Spain. Political parties in the future will be judged by what we did during the pandemic. We try to be useful. Do citizens negotiate with the Government or with the PSOE the Budgets? The important thing is the content. Citizens what they are going to try is that these Budgets, which are going to receive 140,000 million from Europe spread over three years, that this money does not decide in an office Iglesias, Rufián and Otegi where it goes. It is an exceptional circumstance. In a normal situation, we would have little to talk with this Government, but in the midst of a pandemic and pending receipt of that money, Cs is going to work hard so that it is well invested. We can be in the Government. Yes, but we can. define more or less the economic policies of the Government, have more or less weight in the definition of Budgets. The stronger Cs is in economic policies, the lessThey are going to be podemized. Did you veto Podemos in your last meeting with the government? We with whom we are negotiating directly is with the PSOE, because we understand, and we are not deceiving anyone, that Podemos's economic policies have nothing to do with ours. The less satisfied Iglesias is with the Budgets, the better for Spain. Are you optimistic that the Budgets may come out? These are not normal Budgets. They have to include the injection of money from Europe. These Budgets have to go forward because we have to receive that European aid. Our role is that this money is invested in a sensible way, with liberal and progressive policies and that Iglesias, Rufián or Otegi do not decide in an office. Should Iglesias explain the financing of Podemos? Of course. We have requested your urgent appearance. What do you think about the decision that Don Juan Carlos relocates out of Spain? We respect the work of justice and we support Felipe VI as head of state in everything he is doing to maintain the exemplary nature of the Crown. The underlying debate is that some are trying to use this situation to do what they have always wanted: to end the democratic system in Spain - we can and the nationalists are salivating - and we are not going to allow that. have you gone to the United Arab Emirates? It is a decision you have made and will have to be respected.
