The Kuwaiti Minister of Interior, Anas Al-Saleh, explained that what was received from the recordings last February is what is related to the Malaysian fund only, with a dump.

Al-Saleh indicated on his Twitter account that he had taken all measures to form investigation committees, and the file was transferred to the Audit Bureau, the Anti-Corruption Commission and the Investigation Unit, indicating that the file is currently in the Public Prosecution.

He said, "The government sent the recordings to the National Assembly and voted with the request to form a parliamentary commission of inquiry into the matter and announce all of this with transparency."

Al-Saleh added, "As for the recent leaked recordings, which date back to 2018, they took action immediately after I became aware of them recently," adding, "Based on preliminary investigations, the Director General of State Security, the former director of the money laundering department, and a number of officers were suspended."

He concluded: "We are awaiting the final results in the coming hours regarding the eavesdropping, which is totally unacceptable behavior."
