The defense witness in the case of an accident involving Mikhail Efremov stated in court that the actor was not driving the car during the accident.

A witness named Aleksandr Kobets stated in court that he could "100% assert that Efremov was sitting in the passenger seat immediately after the accident." The man said that on the day of the accident with Efremov, he and a friend drank beer, after which he went for a walk and witnessed the accident.

“At that moment I did not know who Efremov was, and did not understand that it was him. But now I recognize him - he was sitting there, in the car, in the passenger seat, ”Kobets said.

At the same time, he said that he has vision problems and is blind in one eye.

The witness also told the court that after the accident he saw a young man collecting airbags in Yefremov's car. According to him, "a young man with dark hair came out from the driver's side." According to the man, there were at least two people in Efremov's car.

Along with this, Kobets spoke about the threats allegedly received against him. According to him, this circumstance prevented him from giving evidence earlier.

“Earlier I was afraid to testify, but I was threatened at the time of the car accident. I was afraid for myself. Then the lawyer Pashayev (the lawyer of Efremov. - RT ) convinced me to do it, I trusted him, ”said the witness.

Efremov's wife Sofya Kruglikova in the Presnensky court stated that her husband had never admitted guilt in an accident.

“Mikhail never admitted guilt, despite all the notes in the press,” said Kruglikova. She stressed that Efremov wants to understand what happened.

She added that she learned information about the alleged use of drugs by Efremov from the press. In addition, Kruglikova said that her husband can sometimes go too far with alcohol at events if "well-wishers wanted to continue drinking with him."

“Up to 200 grams it is fun with him, and if he cannot refuse, then after 300 grams he does not remember anything,” she said. Among other things, the actor's wife noticed that he was usually brought home, and she took the car herself.

She added that the very next day after the accident at Efremov's house, the events of that evening were not discussed, it began only on the third day. On the morning after the accident, Kruglikova said, the actor suffered from a hangover.

“He was in a condition like he was walking away after taking alcohol. There were bruises on the neck, and then I looked - bruises all over the body, ”the artist's wife clarified.

She also spoke about Efremov's calls to an unknown telephone number on the day the accident occurred. The calls were made before the accident, she said. According to Kruglikova, Efremov called an unknown number that none of the artist's friends could identify.

Note that in mid-August, RT had at its disposal the protocol of the interrogation of actor Mikhail Efremov of June 17, in which the artist admits his guilt in committing an accident in the center of Moscow. The document said that the actor admitted the fact of driving while intoxicated, as well as a number of other circumstances that led to the tragedy.

Recall that on June 8, on Smolenskaya Square, Mikhail Efremov's Jeep Grand Cherokee drove into the oncoming lane and crashed into a Lada van, driven by the courier of the online store Sergey Zakharova. The driver of Lada died in hospital from his injuries.

Later, an examination established that at the time of the accident, Efremov was in a state of alcoholic intoxication. Traces of drugs were also found in his blood.

A few days after the accident, the artist published a video in which he apologized to the family of the deceased, but later said that he could not admit his guilt, because he did not remember the moment of the accident.

Note that on August 18, the first court session after the actor's hospitalization took place. On August 11, he was taken away from the courthouse in a pre-infarction state. Efremov's lawyer said the next day, referring to the doctors at the Botkin Hospital, said that Efremov had a stroke. A day later, he replied to reporters that he had not said anything about a stroke to his client.

At the previous meeting, witnesses for the defense spoke, among whom were the actor's colleague Nikita Vysotsky, actress Tatyana Berkovich and poet Andrei Orlov (Orlusha). They gave the actor a positive response and stated that Efremov helped people a lot and had not driven drunk before using the services of other drivers.
