The diplomatic mission was informed that the deputy trade representative was unreasonably detained on August 15 during a meeting with a Norwegian citizen.

“They searched him, did not provide an opportunity to contact the embassy or summon a consular officer to the scene of the incident. We have lodged a protest from the Norwegian Foreign Ministry in connection with the violation of the status of a diplomat, ”the message says.

As noted, Moscow will draw conclusions from this situation.

On August 19, Norway announced that it was expelling a Russian diplomat in connection with a spy scandal.

Earlier, the Norwegian police announced the arrest of a man suspected of transferring state secrets, who allegedly met with a "Russian intelligence officer."

The Russian Embassy reported that the DNV GL certification company, of which the arrested person is, has many years of experience in cooperation with Russian companies and departments for oil and gas production and shipbuilding, and such cooperation has never raised questions from Oslo.
