“Introducing sanctions against Lukashenka, Vilnius knows: this is a reason at least for recalling the ambassador of Belarus and lowering the level of diplomatic relations with Lithuania,” he wrote on Twitter.

Pushkov called the imposition of personal sanctions against the head of state with whom diplomatic relations were established as an unprecedented event.

Earlier, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Linas Linkevicius said that Lukashenka was included in the list of 32 persons who are proposed to be banned from entering the country.

Also on the list are officials from the riot police, the KGB and the election commission of Belarus. The list must be approved by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Lithuania.
