North Korea's state media reported that the General Assembly of the Central Party of the Korean Labor Party was held on the 19th and decided to hold a party convention to be positioned as the highest leadership in January next year.
"The Labor Newspaper," the Korean Labor Party newspaper, dated 20th, said that the party's Central Committee General Assembly was held on the 19th and was addressed by Kim Jung Eun, the chairman of the Korean Labor Party.
In his speech, Kim said, "As the new coronavirus infection spreads worldwide, we are facing an unpredictable and unavoidable challenge for the first time."
On top of that, we decided to hold a party convention in January next year, which we regard as the party's highest leadership. The party convention has been held since May 2016.
It seems that North Korea will try to rebuild the economy and tighten the system by holding party conventions.
