Statistics show that Sweden has had the lowest population increase in 15 years during the corona pandemic. Even in Sörmland, which today has a total of 298,699 inhabitants, population growth has been significantly lower than in previous years.

Largest increase in Nyköping

During the first half of 2020, the population in Sörmland increased by 1,159 people. During the same period last year, the population increase was 1,871 people. The population increase has thus decreased during the first half of 2020 by 38 percent compared with the first half of 2019.

The largest population increase this year has been in Nyköping, Trosa and Strängnäs. At the same time, Flen and Oxelösund have, on the contrary, reduced the number of inhabitants.
