This Monday, August 17, the opening day of the Democratic convention in Wisconsin, Donald Trump played the counter-programming by also going to Winsconsin. Largely behind in the polls, the US president spoke from the tarmac at the airport in Oshkosh, a city north of Milwaukee. In front of a few hundred supporters, Donald Trump joked about the speeches of the Democratic leaders and called the centrist Joe Biden a “puppet of the far left”.

On the tarmac, at the foot of Air Force One, Donald Trump is having a mini-campaign meeting, even if - he says - we are not supposed to hold a meeting at the moment. Regardless, the president is keen to occupy the media while 130 kilometers further south, in Millwaukee begins the Democratic Convention.

In front of a few hundred supporters, the Republican candidate immediately mocks the pre-recorded interventions of this largely virtual high mass because of the coronavirus. “  Their speeches are recorded in advance, no one wants to hear a recorded speech by Michelle Obama!  "

And for nearly an hour, Donald Trump - very combative - works to pass off his centrist rival of 77 years, "  Sleeping Joe  " as he calls him, for holding a radical left. Biden says Trump is the Trojan horse of socialism!

“  You better go and vote because it's the most dangerous election we've ever had. If the Democrats win, it will be worse than Venezuela!  "

In a very bad position in the polls, the 45th President of the United States hopes to reverse the trend, as in 2016, by increasing the number of trips and backfires lasting until Thursday, the last day of the Democratic Convention.
