France: the former deputy mayor of Paris, Christophe Girard, targeted by an investigation for rape

Christophe Girard, former deputy for culture to the mayor of Paris, is the target of an investigation for rape. These charges are brought by a now 46 year old man. The facts which will be examined by the Paris prosecutor's office date back to the beginning of the 1990s.

He described his story with the former cultural assistant of the City of Paris: their meeting in the summer of 1989 in Tunisia when he was only 15 years old, the first sexual assault during a trip to the United States a year later ...

These forced sexual relations, Aniss Hmaïd would have undergone them a score of times in total. He says that in exchange he was sometimes employed as a servant by Christophe Girard and that he obtained work.

Complaint for slanderous denunciation

Certain facts denounced could be prescribed. These are in any case "  serious and unfounded accusations  ", according to Christophe Girard who intends to file a complaint for slanderous denunciation.

Deputy mayor of Paris for 19 years, the politician was forced to resign from his post a month ago. At issue: his links with the writer Gabriel Matzneff , accused, meanwhile, of pedophilia.
