It is a scene that is repeated regularly in Normandy. After the discovery of an old bomb, a defusing operation will take place this Wednesday in Le Havre (Seine-Maritime), in the port.

The explosive device weighs no less than 230 kg. It was unearthed during work on the Siemens Gamesa wind turbine plant site, on the Joannès-Couvert quay, reports 76actu .

No evacuation but a modified circulation

The demining operation will begin at 7:30 am on the site. No evacuation is scheduled because the area does not have a residential building or house. But traffic will be disrupted towards the port.

"Avenue Lucien-Corbeaux being closed to traffic for works, access to the port is via the Môle-Central road which will be difficult to access at the roundabout", said a judicial source. In 2018, a bomb of a similar size was defused in Rouen. The operation had lasted an hour.
