Wufengshan Yangtze River Bridge is a control project of the Lianhuaiyang Town Railway, and it is also the most difficult project for the entire line. The Huaiyang Town Railway connects Shandong in the north and Anhui, Zhejiang and Jiangxi in the south. It is a vertical railway corridor connecting the five provinces of Shandong, Jiangsu, Anhui, Zhejiang and Jiangxi, and is also the second corridor of the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway in Jiangsu.

It is reported that the Lianhuaiyang Town Railway is located on the central axis of the Jiangsu high-speed rail network, with a total length of 304.5 kilometers and a design speed of 250 kilometers per hour. The Lianyungang-Huai'an section has been opened to traffic in 2019, and the Huai'an-Zhenjiang section is planned to be opened to traffic in November this year. After completion, it will cross the Xuyan high-speed rail, which can travel from Xuzhou to Huai’an, Yangzhou, and Zhenjiang to Shanghai, forming an auxiliary channel from Xuzhou to Shanghai on the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed rail, which will greatly ease the existing transportation pressure on the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed rail. It is of great significance for the northern Jiangsu region to connect to Shanghai and integrate into the Yangtze River Delta. (Finish)
