She fell into the river on Saturday evening, near the town of Caluire-et-Cuire, in the Lyon suburbs. The body of the missing girl was found lifeless Sunday afternoon near the accident site, reports Le Progrès .

The child, aged about ten, had come to enjoy the banks of the Rhône with his family. She was playing on a small beach with two other children when she got dangerously close to the water, before being swept away by the current.

Significant relief resources were mobilized until Sunday. His body was finally discovered around 4 p.m. near the Parc de la Freyssine.
