On August 16, local time, the Cincinnati, Ohio, police said that there were several shootings in the city around the early hours of the same day. At least 18 people were shot and at least 4 of them died.
The city’s police department deputy chief Paul Newdige said that these shootings are currently independent incidents and have no connection with each other. But he felt sad that so many violent incidents occurred in the city in a short period of time.
The police said they are currently investigating these shootings.
According to US media reports, compared with the same period in 2019, there was an increase in gun violence crimes in Cincinnati in the first half of this year.
