Social media circulated videos of the mother of Sheikh Raed Salah, head of the Islamic Movement, as she bade farewell to him with sadness and pain, before heading to prison to serve his 17-month sentence in the Israeli occupation prisons.

They embraced more than once, and the mother burst into tears, and the sheikh appeared as if he was trying to stop his tears and be patient, asking her to pray for him.

The scene that did not take more than a minute and 19 seconds was filled with feelings, and the mother was trying to stick to her child and wanted to increase his stay with her whenever he tried to leave, and it seemed as if she did not want to believe that it was a parting meeting.

In the face of the mother's crying and sadness, the sheikh tried to relieve her, and during the short time that it took, he repeated "simple, simple ... just days."

And in another scene, the mother stood with crowds of depositors, calling for her son, going to prison in defense of Al-Aqsa, and the accusation of terrorism with regard to the Israelis, and she was calling for him, "May God be pleased with you, protect you, establish you and strengthen you, and to keep walking in the same way, the way to Al-Aqsa, and to remain a thorn in their throats."

The Israeli Magistrate’s Court in Haifa today sentenced Sheikh Al-Aqsa to 28 months in prison, on charges of "inciting terrorism and supporting a banned organization."

The ruling on Sheikh Salah comes after his statements against the occupation's policies against the holy sites and Al-Aqsa, and the installation of electronic gates in 2017 in front of the gates of the blessed mosque, where he was convicted under an indictment submitted by the Israeli Public Prosecution.

The 11-month sentence the sheikh spent in Israeli prisons during the detention period will be reduced, meaning 17 months remaining in actual prison.
