President reached out to talk to Japan yesterday (15th), but the atmosphere seems to be very difficult to see. There is not much room for anything other than discussing businessmen coming and going with some exceptions.

This is reporter Kim Hye-young.

Since the end of last month, the Korean and Japanese governments are discussing'excluded entry' to ease the restrictions on entry for business people.

It has been about 5 months since Japan restricted entry to Koreans in March last year due to corona protection.

The Korean government is focusing on enabling visa issuance for Korean businessmen and minimizing the period of self-isolation in Japan.

There was a consensus between the two countries to ensure essential economic activity, but that seems to be the only way.

The official explained that it is a separate'one-point consultation', which is different from the current issues of Korea-Japan relations.

Even with the issue of compensation for victims of forced mobilization, which is a key issue, President Moon Jae-in yesterday suggested to find a solution based on joint efforts between Korea and Japan to respect the human rights of victims, saying, "I am ready to sit face to face with the Japanese government at any time." .

There was only a response from a high-ranking official through the local media, saying, "We can't even find a clue to improve relations with the Moon Jae-in government, which promotes victim-centeredness."

This is why the prospect of a political solution seems difficult to find even right before the assets of war criminals are converted into cash.

[Kiho Yang/Professor of Sungkonghoe University: (Assets of war criminals) Cashing is likely to occur in the first half of next year, and (Japan) is preparing for economic retaliation now. (Korea-Japan) Conflict is likely to continue under tension... .]

Exceptions to entrepreneurs Even if the issue of entry into the country is resolved, the crisis in Korea-Japan relations is expected to continue for some time.
