• Middle East: Israel and the United Arab Emirates reach an agreement to normalize relations

The Gaza militias launched two projectiles at Israel tonight , which were intercepted and caused no casualties, the Army reported in a statement.

"Regarding the sirens that sounded a few minutes ago, two projectiles were fired from the Gaza Strip into Israeli territory, and were intercepted by the Iron Dome air defense system," reported a military note.

The launch sounded alarms in Israeli civilian communities adjacent to the Palestinian coastal enclave, which for weeks have suffered fires from incendiary balloons and explosives launched from the Strip.

Tensions have risen in the area in the last week, with six nights of army shelling against Hamas military targets in the Strip in retaliation for the balloon attacks.

The launch of the two projectiles, whose responsibility for the moment has not been claimed by any militia, follows Israeli bombings tonight and calls for protests throughout the afternoon by Palestinian protesters against the agreement to normalize relations between Israel and the United Arab Emirates , announced Thursday.

According to the Israeli military spokesperson, the protesters "burned tires, threw explosive devices and grenades at the security fence and tried to get close to it."
