The Mauritius authorities, who are responding to the accident, said on the 15th that the grounded cargo ship "WASHASHIO" was around 4:30 pm local time (around 9:30 pm Japan time) and the front part of the hull was larger than the rear part. They announced that they had separated and confirmed that they were split in two.

In local media footage, the freighter appears to be completely separated from the stern, which has white buildings such as bridges, and the center to the front.
