Leipzig-Paris SG and Lyon-Bayern Munich: Tuesday and Wednesday, the semi-finals of the Champions League will be Franco-German, after Lyon's surprise victory against Manchester City on Saturday in the fourth and last quarter of this final tournament (" Final 8 ") very open in Lisbon.

From the painful victory of Paris SG, yet favorite against Atalanta, to the surprise qualifications of Leipzig and Lyon through the historic humiliation inflicted by Bayern Munich on Barcelona (8-2), these quarter-finals on dry match and neutral ground, an unprecedented format, kept all their promises.

All the posters of the semi-finals are now known with the Lyon victory against Manchester City (3-1). An unexpected success and acquired in the mind, the Lyonnais not having cracked when the Citizens equalized in the 69th minute.

After Juventus Turin and Manchester City, the Lyonnais now see Bayern Munich stand on their way on Wednesday (21:00, 19:00 GMT).

Already favorites before arriving in Lisbon, the Bavarian club has asserted itself even more as the team to beat with its demonstration against Barcelona on Friday. The Germans are heading straight for a sixth Champions League and the second Championship-Cup-C1 treble in their history.

On paper, Paris SG seems the best team to stand up to the Bavarians. But the French club struggled in the quarterfinals against Atalanta (2-1), which he should have dominated more easily.

And the Parisians will have, if they want to play in the first C1 final in their history on August 23, to overcome the surprising RB Leipzig, a neophyte at this level and scorer of Atlético Madrid (2-1) in the quarter. This semi-final will take place on Tuesday (9:00 p.m., 7:00 p.m. GMT).

It will also be a clash between two German coaches, Thomas Tuchel for Paris and Julian Nagelsmann for Leipzig. With the presence of their compatriot Hansi Flick on the Bayern bench, only one coach qualified for the semi-finals is not German: it is the French Rudi Garcia, coach of Lyon.
