Last year, there were 62 markets for Laila and Lennart Nilsson. In February, they bought the goods they would sell this year.

- But there have been no markets this year. So we thought we should try to have the carriage open here at home instead, says Lennart Nilsson.

Said and done. During the summer, they have had the cart parked on a gravel floor opposite the house where they live.

And it has exceeded expectations, says Laila Nilsson.

- There are a few people here every day, she says.

Far from the normal sales figures

The couple also has a cart that they parked outside a store in Tomelilla. But even if sales go better than they expected, they do not reach sales levels in the long run they usually have a normal summer.

- But this is a way to survive and get in as much as possible. These are huge problems for bangs, so we are lucky that we were able to stand like this, says Lennart Nilsson.

Will the bang corps be able to recover after this summer?

- It is hard to say. If this continues, many will quit, says Lennart Nilsson in Deberga.
