There are many analyzes and news published by the Lebanese media about the responsibility of the resigned Prime Minister Hassan Diab for the explosion of the Beirut port, and every medium talked about a scenario. The Lebanese government under the pretext that the materials at the port are "not made" (they do not deserve) the prime minister's visit.

However, the Lebanese newspaper "Al-Gomhoria" answered the question of why Diab canceled his visit to ward No. 12 (which contained ammonium nitrate) about two and a half months ago to seize the scandal of storing these highly explosive materials as a "flagrante delict"?

According to the information of the Lebanese newspaper, that a meeting between the Director General of the "State Security", Major General Tony Saliba, and an advisor to the Lebanese prime minister, last June 3.

During the meeting, Saliba narrated to Diab's advisor how his device was able to control quantities of ammonium nitrate in the Beirut port, explaining the extreme sensitivity of these materials and the threat they pose to the capital.

Immediately, the advisor left his seat and made a phone call to Diab, and informed him of what he heard from the security official, so the Prime Minister took great care of the matter, and asked to prepare for a tour for him at the port the next morning to inspect the ammonium ward - in the presence of Saliba - provided that after this tour he would move to a palace Baabda to participate in a meeting scheduled for the Supreme Defense Council.

The night before Diab's visit, the commander of the Government Guard Company and a senior State Security officer inspected the port to explore the location and take the necessary logistical measures. The Commander of the Government Guard also received a notification from the State Security on his phone of the assets of ward No. 12.

But those familiar with - the newspaper adds - reveal that the leadership of the "State Security" received a call from the brigades stating that Diab's visit to the port the next day had been canceled, because there was a reliable party on the part of Diab who informed him that the issue "is not being achieved", and the materials in the ward are not Of the explosive type, but rather agricultural fertilizer.

The newspaper suggested that the conflicting conclusions reached to Diab last June regarding the nature of the materials stored inside the port "are due to competition, but rather the conflict between some security services that are sensitive to each other."

The newspaper also learned that Major General Saliba - who had given his testimony a few days earlier to the judiciary - was asked about the reason for the failure to follow up on the implementation of the judicial indication issued by the Prosecutor General of Cassation, Judge Ghassan Oweidat regarding the treatment of the defects in the position of ward 12, and he replied that Oweidat did not request any field action. In this regard.

When the judge asked him why he had not leaked the ammonium file to the media in order to take on pressure, he considered that the laws "do not allow and punish the diversion."
