The Israeli occupation army launched air and artillery strikes on a site and monitoring points for the Palestinian resistance and agricultural lands in areas adjacent to the security fence in the eastern Gaza Strip, for the third consecutive day.

Eyewitnesses reported that the bombing caused material damage in the targeted areas, but no injuries were reported.

It is noteworthy that the Israeli army continues targeting separate areas of the Strip for the third consecutive night, coinciding with the tightening of restrictions and siege, under the pretext of the continued launching of incendiary balloons towards the Israeli settlements bordering the Gaza Strip.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his Defense Minister Benny Gantz had threatened to respond forcefully to Palestinian militants launching batches of balloons carrying incendiary materials towards settlements adjacent to the Gaza Strip and leaving 60 fires.

On Tuesday, the occupation authorities announced the closure of the Kerem Shalom crossing, which is the only commercial port with the Gaza Strip, allegedly in response to the launching of incendiary balloons.

The Coordination Unit for the Israeli Government’s Activities in the Palestinian Territories said in a statement that the Kerem Shalom crossing, through which goods pass into Gaza, “will be closed to the passage of all goods, except for basic humanitarian aid and fuel.”

The statement accused the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) of being "responsible" for these launches, given its control over the Gaza Strip.
