This follows from the draft of the military department to amend the law "On Defense".
"It is proposed that information generated during the implementation of measures in the field of defense, and not constituting a state secret, should be classified as confidential at the legislative level," says an explanatory note published on the portal of legal information.
According to the authors of the initiative, the mass media periodically publish official information concerning the organization of state defense, as well as the creation of weapons and military equipment.
It is noted that the existing mechanisms for protecting information in the field of defense "do not allow to fully limit its distribution in open sources."
