Jim Boylen has been fired from his job as coach of the Chicago Bulls, the Illinois franchise said in a statement Friday, which prematurely ended his contract which had been extended for "several years" in May 2019.

The Bulls have not announced Jim Boylen's successor. According to ESPN reporter Adrian Wojnarowski, Denver assistant Wes Unsel Jr., and former Brooklyn coach Kenny Atkinson are holding the rope to take the job.

Assistant coach including the Houston Rockets between 1992 and 2003, Boylen joined Chicago in 2015, first as an assistant and then as head coach after the dismissal of Fred Hoiberg in December 2018. He has an overall record of 39 wins for 84 losses.

Michael Jordan's legendary franchise had a record of 22 wins for 43 defeats before the championship was interrupted because of the Covid-19 pandemic in mid-March. She was not invited to the Orlando bubble to end the season. His last appearance in the play-offs dates back to 2017.
