Lavrov and French Foreign Minister discussed Putin's initiative to convene the UN Security Council

In addition, the parties discussed the inter-Libyan settlement and agreed on a schedule of bilateral contacts in accordance with instructions from Putin and French President Emmanuel Macron.

On August 14, Putin proposed to urgently convene an online summit on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on the Iranian nuclear deal, as well as develop security mechanisms in the Persian Gulf.
