A woman in her forties was found stabbed dead at her home in Plougrescant (Côtes-d'Armor) on the night of Thursday to Friday, reports Le Télégramme . It was around 1 a.m. when the gendarmes and firefighters discovered the bloody body of the victim, lying on the floor of his kitchen. His companion, heavily alcoholic and who was present at the scene of the tragedy, was arrested and taken into police custody.
According to the neighbors quoted by the daily, violence was frequent within the couple against a background of massive alcoholism. An investigation, entrusted to the research brigade of Lannion and the gendarmes of Tréguier, was opened.
