Three students at the Applied Technology High School in Falaj Al Mualla in Umm Al Quwain created a device to help athletes continue to perform their exercises well, if they felt tired and exhausted, especially when carrying large weights, and they called it the automatic athletes assistant.

The teacher of applied electrical technology at the school, the project supervisor, Eng. Bahaa El Din Saleh, told "Emirates Today" that players in sports clubs, regardless of the sporting activity they practice, need an assistant to continue sports exercises, especially carrying large weights, as part of their training. .

He explained that the work of the device begins with a predetermination by the athlete of the type of exercise that he will perform, and the timing that he will take, and when the player moves, the device begins to count until he reaches the stage in which the athlete begins to lose his energy, and then the device works to help the athlete complete his exercise, while using Some encouraging phrases recorded on the device.

Saleh mentioned that the device he supervised with his colleague at the school, Engineer Khaled Jumaa, consists of a digital processor and sensors, equipped with a screen to issue instructions, a sound source and an electric winch, pointing out that the students completed the project in three months, and its cost is about 1000 dirhams. The students participated in the project in the National Festival for Science, Technology and Innovation organized by the Ministry of Education, last February.
