Joels Udde community association has submitted an application to the municipality to reduce the speed in the area from 30 km / h to 20 km / h at the place where a motorist killed two people on 22 July. But according to the municipality, such a change is not possible.
Mörbylånga's street manager tells SVT that there are rules that make it impossible to change speeds in any way.
- 20 km / h has no support in the traffic ordinance. You can reduce to walking speed, but this is only done in extreme cases, says Per Gustavsson who is Street Manager at Mörbylånga municipality.
The municipality has therefore answered no to the association's request.
