“To date, 1,047 patients have already received immune plasma in the city's hospitals, 686 of them have already recovered and were discharged from hospitals,” RIA Novosti quotes Rakova as saying.

According to her, preliminary results of the study showed that after transfusion of donor plasma, the chance of being on mechanical ventilation in intensive care is reduced by 63% in moderately severe patients.

Earlier, the director of the Gamaleya National Research Center, Alexander Gunzburg, said that only antibodies can alleviate the condition of a coronavirus patient.
