Nina Peivert has been interested in wild animals since childhood and now she has a facility that is a free zone for wild animals that needed a little extra help on the run to survive.

- If it is we humans who caused the injury, for example through a car accident or that our cats have harmed the animals, we wildlife rehabilitators think it is our duty to also help the animals as much as we can.

May die of stress

But if it causes too much stress for the animal, it is not worth it, Nina points out:

- Many adult animal species such as squirrels and hares are stressed to death if they end up in captivity, so then it is easiest to kill them if they do not have a chance to survive on their own, she says. It's also a big part of my job.
