Resumption of city bus service is under coordination between Dubai roads and the competent authorities

The Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai confirmed to “Emirates Today” its full readiness to resume bus trips between cities, and that it is currently working on coordination with the competent authorities in other emirates, for the return of the service that was interrupted within the application of preventive measures and the implementation of national sterilization programs to limit the spread of the Corona virus on State level.

The Emirates Today approached the authority with an inquiry about the reasons for stopping the service that a number of members of the public rely on to move to reach their work sites or to visit family and friends in other Emirates, in addition to being used by customers to visit recreational and tourist places scattered in the Emirates nationwide. .

According to the authority, the service is available at the present time between the emirate of Dubai and each of the emirates of Ajman and Ras Al Khaimah, and coordination is underway to resume it with the rest of the Emirates, but it did not clarify the expected date of the appeal.

In June 2018, the Public Transport Agency at the Roads and Transport Authority launched a new bus line between Dubai and Sharjah, called (E311), in addition to its other lines, announcing that the launch of the line aims to meet the increasing demand for service for commuters traveling between the two emirates every day. 6 regular buses have been allocated to service the line with a running time of 30 minutes, so that the bus route between the Rashidiya metro station in Dubai and the Jubail station in Sharjah will be from 5 am to 12 midnight. 

It is noteworthy that the authority continues to implement all precautionary and preventive health measures adopted in combating the Coronavirus Covid 19, in all public transport means, at its stations, at the entrances to and around the stations, as well as in the various customer service centers, and stresses that passengers and dealers must adhere to these measures, the most important of which are Taking into account physical distancing and wearing masks, to ensure the highest levels of protection for them, employees and transportation operators.
