“This is a tragedy,” TASS quoted Pompeo as saying in an interview with Czech television.
According to him, the Belarusian elections were not fair and free.
He also added that the best conditions should be provided for the Belarusians.
Earlier, French leader Emmanuel Macron, in a telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, expressed serious concern over the situation in Belarus after the presidential elections and called on all parties to return to the path of dialogue.
