Wearing a mask outdoors is gradually becoming essential in all large cities. After Nice, Lille, Paris, Marseille or Rennes, the protective mask against Covid-19 will also be mandatory in certain sectors of Nantes, announced Wednesday evening the city of Nantes and the prefect of Loire-Atlantique. A decision taken in view of "the regular increase in the incidence rate and the admission of new cases to the CHU".
The obligation will take effect on Friday and will concern the city center, the edges of the Erdre, the north and south forecourt of the station as well as the open-air markets.
“In the interest of all, the prefect and the mayor of Nantes, president of the metropolis, call on the inhabitants to respect these measures to fight against the spread of the virus in order to stop the ongoing rebound of the epidemic. Even in places less frequented and not concerned by this obligation, it is also recommended to wear a mask, ”declare Claude d'Harcourt and Johanna Rolland.
