Stupor this Wednesday morning near the Malo-les-Bains dyke, in Dunkirk (North). At around 9 a.m., a man was arrested on the beach when he had just assaulted a walker with his child. The father was walking around when an agitated individual rushed to the stroller where the baby was, for no apparent reason, reveals La Voix du Nord .
He would have managed to extract the toddler and would have tried to escape with it, says the daily.
Another assault a little earlier?
The assailant was subdued with the help of passers-by and then taken into police custody. The baby is safe.
The same individual is also suspected of having attempted to strangle a woman who was walking earlier in the neighborhood. An investigation for attempted homicide has been opened, indicates the Dunkirk prosecutor's office.
