According to foreign media reports, in August 2019, the wife of an American diplomat drove in a reverse direction in the UK and killed 19-year-old British youth Harry after using diplomatic immunity to escape home, causing controversy. On August 10, 2020 local time, members of the constituency where Dunn’s family are located sent a letter to the Secretary of the Interior of the United Kingdom calling for an “online trial” of the suspect.

  According to the report, Southampton County Councillor Andrea Lidsom stated in the letter that “(Wife of the American diplomat) Anne Sarculas can be tried in or out of court”.

  Lidsom said, “She can stay in the United States and be tried online in a British court. If sentenced to imprisonment, she can serve the sentence in the United States based on the existing prisoner transfer agreement.”

  According to reports, Lidsom also wrote letters to the British Foreign Secretary and the Royal Attorney's Office to express the above thoughts. A spokesperson for the British Attorney General's Office confirmed that they received the letter but declined to comment further.

  In August 2019, Saculas, the wife of a former US diplomat, drove in a reverse direction in the UK and killed 19-year-old British youth Harry. In December, Saculas was accused of dangerous driving, leading to Harry's death. Since then, the British side filed an extradition request to the United States. However, the U.S. State Department rejected the British extradition request in January 2020.
