New reports, new measures and highlights: an update on the latest developments in the Covid-19 pandemic around the world.

- Over 20 million cases worldwide -

More than 20 million cases of coronavirus have been officially recorded worldwide, more than half of which in America, according to a count made by AFP from official sources on Monday.

In total, at least 20,002,577 cases, including 733,842 deaths, have been reported. More than four in ten cases of Covid-19 are located in the United States and Brazil, the two most affected countries in the world with 5,075,678 cases (163,282 deaths) and 3,057,470 infections (101,752 deaths) respectively.

The pace of the pandemic appears to be stabilizing around the world, with a million additional cases detected roughly every 4 days since mid-July.

- Madrid admit not to master everything "perfectly" -

Spanish health authorities acknowledged Monday that they were unable to "perfectly" control the contagion of the new coronavirus while Spain recorded in two weeks the highest increase in cases detected among the large countries of Western Europe.

- Quarantine on arrival in Finland -

Anyone from a "country at risk" arriving in Finland will have to submit to a fortnight or risk a fine or three months' imprisonment.

Until now, the country had contented itself with recommending this fourteen-day solitary confinement, without imposing any sanction on the recalcitrant.

- An app to book your beach in Rio -

The mayor of Rio de Janeiro announced on Monday that anyone wishing to go to a beach in the seaside town would have to book a space through an app, in an attempt to stem the spread of the coronavirus.
