A few days after several of the care staff met out on a premises during their free time, several of them began to show symptoms that could indicate covid-19, something that Kungälvs-Posten was the first to report on.

Of the 13 tested by healthcare professionals, five tested positive for covid-19. And while waiting for the test results, the department did not have enough staff and was therefore forced to reduce to nine care places, and thus went down from 23 to 14 care places.

"Could have been more careful"

Anders Edebo, who during the current period was chief physician at Kungälv Hospital, believes based on the information he has that the care staff could have acted more responsibly.

- I think you could have been more careful considering how it all went, he says.

Despite the fact that several of the care staff tested positive for covid-19, no one inside the ward became infected. And according to Ander Edebo, the course of events did not affect the care situation at the hospital.

- Despite being reduced to nine places, there were still vacancies in the department, he says.
