The General Directorate of State Security in Lebanon said, in a statement published on its official page on the social networking site "Facebook," that it had discovered security flaws in the Beirut port that led to the explosion that occurred last week.

The leadership issued an order to conduct a forensic investigation, and this was done in accordance with the Criminal Procedure Law and within the principles of work in the field of judicial police. As a result of these investigations, I sent a court letter to the Presidency of the Beirut Port Administration and Investment Authority to take the necessary measures at all levels to avoid any accident due to the presence of these dangerous materials, and informed the authorities of their danger according to a detailed report.

It should be noted that the law will do justice to those who work silently and punish those who misled the investigation and those who failed to carry out their duties.
