The coronavirus epidemic does not frighten American bikers. Thousands of "bikers" converged on Sunday in Sturgis, in the Midwest, for the world's largest annual biker gathering.

Masks were rare in the crowd of two-wheeler lovers who strolled through the town of 6,000 inhabitants. Until August 16, some 250,000 "bikers" from across the country are expected for the 80th edition of this huge rally.

Five million infections in the United States

T-shirts stamped "I survived the corona", "God, arms and Trump" or a montage of the president, leather jacket on the shoulders and making an arm of honor, were offered for sale. "We look forward to seeing our visitors experience all that our state has to offer," Republican South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem said on Fox News.
