The German News Agency quoted sources in the European Union as saying that Germany, France and Italy intend to impose sanctions on violators of the arms embargo to Libya, while the Libyan Oil Corporation has warned of a disaster in the oil ports under the control of the forces of retired Major General Khalifa Haftar.

The sources reported that the three countries have prepared a list of companies and individuals who provide ships, aircraft, and other logistical services, to transport weapons to Libya, in violation of the United Nations embargo.

The sources indicated that the list includes 3 companies from Turkey, Jordan and Kazakhstan, in addition to two people from Libya.

Oil disaster warning

And the head of the National Oil Corporation in Libya, Mustafa Sanallah, warned - today, Saturday - of the risk of a disaster in the Libyan oil ports, due to the increase in the military presence, with the presence of tanks containing huge stocks for months due to the closures.

Sanalla said in a video message that "the oil ports are closed and the export is stopped. If the oil tanks are exposed to any source of heat or any source of ignition, it will be a very big disaster."

Haftar's forces have stopped energy exports since last January, halting most production and causing storage tanks to fill up.

The National Oil Corporation said after the latest round of war in June that mercenaries had entered oil fields and ports controlled by Haftar's forces.
