Lebanese sources said today, Monday, that Lebanese Prime Minister Hassan Diab is preparing to announce the resignation of the government shortly.

"Sky News Arabia" quoted sources as saying that there is a tendency for Hassan Diab to announce the resignation of the government, ahead of the scheduled third session this Monday afternoon, and he may make a direct speech.

Lebanese sources talked about information about not securing a quorum for the cabinet session today, indicating that Diab will resign without a session.

Earlier in the day, the Lebanese government, now breathing its last, decided to reconvene its meeting at the Grand Serail, after it was supposed to be held in Baabda Palace headed by President Michel Aoun.

The meeting’s agenda also changed with the successive resignations of ministers and pressure for more resignations.

The channel revealed that the fall of the government requires the resignation of 7 other ministers, as expectations indicate the resignation of the Minister of the Displaced, Ghada Shreim, Minister of Economy Raul Nehme, and Minister of Education Tariq Al-Majzoub.
