“The heads of the foreign affairs agencies of the two states ... discussed issues related to individual representatives of the Russian media working in Belarus outside the legal field without appropriate accreditation,” the press service of RIA Novosti quotes.
Lavrov also conveyed congratulations to the Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko, who won the August 9 presidential elections.
On August 9, three journalists from the Dozhd TV channel were detained in Belarus. According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the incident occurred due to the lack of the necessary accreditation.
They were later released after being banned from entering Belarus for five years.
