The Sinabung volcano in the northern part of Sumatra Island in Indonesia erupted again around 10:16 am (local time) on the 10th.

The recent eruption of the Sinabung volcano occurred at around 1:58 am on the 8th, and it erupted again after three days.

The Indonesian Volcanic Geological Disaster Prevention Center (PVMBG) announced that "sinabung volcano erupted and volcanic ash soared up to 5 km from the top of the mountain," and that "there were no casualties from the explosion."

He added, "The villagers should not approach the crater entrance and be aware of the possibility of lava flow."

Sinabung Volcano, at an altitude of 2,460 m, is one of more than 120 active volcanoes in Indonesia.

Disaster authorities have lowered the warning level of the Sinabung Volcano (stages 1 to 4) from the highest level 4 to 3 in May of last year and are maintaining it.

In accordance with the 3rd level warning, residents and tourists are prohibited from accessing within 3 km of the summit of Sinabung volcano, within 5 km of the southeast area, and within 4 km of the northeast area.

The volcanic ash erupted that day covered more than 4 villages, 20 km away from the crater.

The Sinabung volcanic eruption killed 16 people in 2014 and 7 people in 2016.

Disaster authorities urged, "To reduce the impact of volcanic ash on the human body, wear a mask when you go outside the house, be careful not to get volcanic ash into the water tank, and clean the roof so that it does not collapse."
