End of traffic restrictions. The Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes prefecture lifted the restrictions announced four days earlier in Lyon on Monday following an episode of ozone pollution, in particular the introduction of differentiated traffic.

“The air quality has returned to a normal level today in the Rhône. As a result, the prefect decided to lift all the restrictive measures put in place following the episode of ozone air pollution which began on August 6, ”she said on Monday. communicated. “The information-recommendation level is maintained today for the Coteaux area” of the Rhône, she said.

Mandatory vignette and reduced speed

Since Saturday 5 am, the most polluting vehicles were banned from circulation in the center of the Lyon area. Only vehicles carrying a Crit'Air O, 1, 2 or 3 sticker could circulate in Lyon and in the neighboring towns of Villeurbanne and Caluire-et-Cuire. This measure, however, did not apply to the motorways that cross the city, and in particular the A6 / A7 and the Fourvière tunnel.

The maximum speed of movement had been lowered by 20 kilometers per hour. On roads at 80 km / h, the maximum speed was reduced to 70 km / h. Other measures to reduce air pollution also applied to the agricultural and industrial sectors.

It was the second time in eight days that differentiated traffic had been introduced in the Lyon region, one of the most polluted in France.
