The lifting bucket, which is the last part to link the new Hisingsbron, was shipped to the port of Gothenburg on Saturday.

It was then lifted over to a 90-meter-long, 27-meter-wide and a record-breaking barge for the river, which on Monday carried the lifting buoy across the Göta River.

"Is like a big sculpture"

Several interested Gothenburgers considered the shipping from the river bank.

- Because I am a sculptor, I think it is exciting with this bridge, because it is like a large sculpture, says Bengt Heinö, who stood with his camera in full view at Gulbergsstrand.

"Everything went as planned"

Susanne Wiberg, project manager at the traffic office for the construction of Hisingsbron, was also on site during the morning.

- The most difficult thing was to transport the lifting bucket under the Götaälv bridge. It was crowded, but we took it easy and controlled and everything went as planned, she says.

The lifting bucket is now located by the quay at Gullbergsstrand and is being prepared for the assembly, which is planned for the end of August.
