Eleven people from the same family died this Sunday in Panama. Their home was washed away by the sudden flooding of a river while the whole family was asleep.

The tragedy occurred in Calovebora, in central Panama, announced the country's civil protection. According to the authorities, there were nine minors and two adults among the victims.

Two other missing persons

All would have been "surprised" in their sleep by the suddenness of the flood. Two other people are also missing in the same area. Rescue teams are currently looking for them.

Heavy rains have caused flooding and flooding in the Central American country. The Bejuco River, in the north of the central province of Veraguas (350 km from Panama) experienced a very brutal flood, which occurred during the night.
