A suspect was indicted in particular for "attempted murder" and imprisoned in the investigation of shootings and settling of scores linked to drug trafficking in the sensitive district of Planoise, in Besançon (Doubs), a-t- we learned Sunday from the prosecution.
The man was arrested in a commune of Jura in the company of an individual who "was in a situation of escape" in a separate case, said the prosecution, confirming information from the Republican East .
He was indicted for "attempted murder" and "drug trafficking" in particular, then remanded in custody earlier this week, added the prosecution, without further details.
In this investigation, around thirty people, including minors, have been arrested in recent months, most of them imprisoned. They are suspected of belonging to two rival teams who have multiplied the shootings, from November 2019 to last March, in an attempt to take control of the drug market in Planoise, a so-called republican reconquest district where 18,000 inhabitants reside. These settling of scores left a dozen injured, aged 14 to 31, and one dead, aged 23.
Involved in the fire at the pound?
According to the Republican East , the man imprisoned last week "could also be linked to the arson of the municipal pound of December 31, 2019". That day, four armed criminals had set fire to a stolen car parked in the compound of the pound.
The fire had spread to several dozen other vehicles and damaged a nearby supermarket. Three men directly involved in the fire were jailed.
