A Nigerian boy playing ballet barefoot in the rain had a chance of a lifetime.

On the 9th local time, foreign media such as NBC reported that a video of a boy dancing with his best efforts in a given environment was spread on social media and rang the hearts of netizens around the world.

When you watch the video that has become a hot topic, a boy starts dancing on the ground in the rain. In inclement weather, empty glass bottles and garbage bags piled up, the boy continues his highly challenging ballet movements with incredible concentration.

The main character in the video is Anthony Mesoma Madhu, 11 years old, from Lagos, Nigeria. Anthony has been learning ballet three years ago in a small ballet school with only 12 students. With the belief that “anyone with passion should be able to learn ballet,” Owoseni, an instructor who taught students ballet for free, was the first to notice Anthony's extraordinary talent.

With insufficient practice space in the classroom, Anthony practiced ballet anywhere. Owoseni was impressed by the appearance of Anthony dancing outdoors on a rainy day, and filmed it and released it on social media. There was also an article saying, "Which teacher would not pray for the future of such a student."

Anthony's ballet video soon became a hot topic online. Numerous waves of support from netizens such as "Like a new'Billy Elliot'" and "I hope my child can achieve their dreams" continued, and'love calls' started pouring out from ballet educational institutions around the world.

Cynthia Harvey, chief dancer at American Ballet Theater (ABT), also saw Anthony's video. Touched by his passion and talent, Harvey contacted Anthony's family directly and even offered him a scholarship at ABT's Ballet School in New York, USA.

Anthony said, "I'm really happy. I feel like I'm dreaming," when hundreds of thousands of people around the world have watched and cheered on her videos. “In Nigeria, there is still a view that only girls should do ballet,” he said. “It is my dream to be a great male ballet dancer.”
