The UAE participates in the International Conference for the Relief of the Lebanese People

The Minister of State for International Cooperation, Her Excellency Reem bint Ibrahim Al-Hashemi, confirmed that the wise leadership of the UAE has directed to provide all possible support to the Lebanese brothers, as 80 tons of aid were sent through 3 flights, to reinforce the efforts of the medical teams, which are working tirelessly to save The injured and affected people in the aftermath of the Beirut port explosion last Tuesday, in cooperation with international organizations and actors, such as the World Health Organization, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and the Lebanese Red Cross, to ensure the speedy response and the arrival of aid to those who need it.

This came during the participation of Reem Bint Ibrahim Al-Hashemi in the work of the donors conference dedicated to helping the Lebanese people, organized by the French government with the participation of French President Emmanuel Macron and a number of heads of state and international organizations, which was held remotely today through visual communication in cooperation with the United Nations.

She added, "The UAE affirms that overcoming the current crisis and its repercussions requires that all ports, ports and airports be under the sole supervision of the state, and activate Security Council Resolution No. 1701 aimed at disarming them so that they are confined to the hands of the Lebanese Armed Forces."

She indicated that the UAE hopes that the conference will succeed in achieving the required assistance and establishing a unified and transparent mechanism for the emergency humanitarian response for the Lebanese people, and focusing support on vital sectors within the framework of providing relief efforts such as health, education, food and shelter, in a manner that ensures the continuity of services, especially health and education.
