Aboul Gheit: We will help Lebanon with what is available to us and we are ready to participate in a serious investigation

The Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, stressed the importance of international solidarity and the flow of urgent relief aid to Lebanon, especially from the brotherly Arab countries, so that he feels that he will never be left alone.

This came during his speech before the International Conference in Support of Beirut and the Lebanese, which was held under the initiative and patronage of France and the United Nations and with a large international presence of heads of state and government, ministers and senior officials.

During his speech, Aboul Gheit conveyed what he personally touched during his solidarity visit to Lebanon yesterday, including scenes of destruction and devastation in the port and hundreds of buildings that were partially or completely destroyed due to the explosion of the Beirut port.

In his speech, he stressed Lebanon's need for urgent assistance for the urgent restoration and reconstruction of buildings and homes that were destroyed and damaged, pledging that the League would sharpen the capabilities of its system in order to contribute to this effort to help the Lebanese.

Aboul Gheit also expressed the Arab League’s readiness to assist in any serious and impartial investigation in order to reveal the truth.
