The City Mission and the Call Ring are behind the integration project, and it started at the beginning of the summer. Ten boys from Norrköping and ten boys from Linköping from particularly vulnerable areas have had the opportunity to meet a couple of days during the week to test different activities and attend lectures to more easily get into society and get an insight into what the project manager Charbel Gabro calls typical Swedish.

- We have played long golf and been out in nature, something that many of these guys usually do not come close to. Then we ended the project with a visit to Stockholm Castle, one of the most Swedish there is, he says.

"Dare to be yourself"

Yaser Heiba and Mosab Elfituri are two of the participants and they are very happy when SVT Nyheter Öst meets them.

- This is the best summer of my life, both say.

In addition to the various physical activities such as golf, paintball, football and boating, the boys have had lectures that focused on getting to know themselves and being open to others.

- You should not have prejudices against others and you should dare to do things and dare to say yes, says Yaser Heiba.

- You should treat others as you yourself want to be treated, says Mosab Elfituri.

Looking forward to school this fall

This summer's project has also made the boys look at school in a different way than before. Suddenly it has become important.

- I will invest in schooling and get a good education, says Yaser Heiba.

Mosab Elfituri nods and says that school is important.

- But preferably I want to become a football professional, he says.
